Starting the FOX Monitor Process
To stop the LBU for the ServerNet/FX adapter connected to the X-ring on the local
cluster, issue the following ServerNet/FX adapter subsystem SCF command :
SCF> STOP LBU $ZZFOX.#X
Task 4: Verify that the LBU is down
You can use the SCF STATUS LBU command to verify that an LBU is down. For
example, to check the status of the LBU for the ServerNet/FX adapter connected to the
Y-ring on the local cluster, issue the following ServerNet/FX adapter subsystem SCF
command:
SCF> STATUS LBU $ZZFOX.#Y
To check the status of the LBU for the ServerNet/FX adapter connected to the X-ring
on the local cluster, issue the following ServerNet/FX adapter subsystem SCF
command:
SCF> STATUS LBU $ZZFOX.#X
The summary state displayed for the LBU should be STOPPED.
Task 5: Remove power and/or disconnect cables
If you want to physically detach the ServerNet/FX adapter from the local cluster, you
must power down the adapter and/or remove the fiber-optic cables.
Using the OSM or TSM Client Software
You can use the Stop LBU action in the OSM Service Connection or the Stop action in
the TSM Service Application to stop an LBU for a specified ServerNet/FX adapter.
Starting the FOX Monitor Process
Use the Kernel subsystem SCF START PROCESS command to start the FOX monitor
process ($ZZFOX).
The following command starts the FOX monitor process named ZZFOX:
START PROCESS $ZZKRN.#ZZFOX
Using the SCF START PROCESS command to start the FOX monitor process is
further explained in Starting the FOX Monitor Process on page 2-5.
Note. This task must be performed by an HP-trained service provider. Cabling instructions are
provided for the ServerNet/FX adapter in the ServerNet/FX Adapter Installation and Support
