Recovering Down or Stuck FOX Direct Logical Paths
Task 3: Recover FOX direct logical paths
To recover FOX direct logical paths that are down (D) or in a stuck state (-STUCK-),
use the ServerNet/FX adapter subsystem SCF START PATH command.
Recovering down (D) FOX direct logical paths
For each down (D) FOX direct logical path, start the FOX direct logical path from the
local processor to a specified remote processor by issuing the following ServerNet/FX
adapter subsystem SCF command:
SCF> START PATH $ZZFOX.local-processor,
TO remote-cluster.remote-processor,
SUB fox-logical-path
The following example of a START PATH command with accompanying detailed status
information shows that the XR FOX direct logical path from processor 10 in the local
cluster to processor 6 in \GATE5 was successfully started.
Caution. To start FOX direct logical paths that are down or in a stuck state, the local cluster
must be running software that supports the ServerNet/FX Path Management Facility, the
ServerNet ($ZSNET) connection must be UP, and the logical LBU ($ZZFOX.#X and/or
$ZZFOX.#Y) connections associated with the FOX direct logical paths must be in the STARTED
state.
Note. The START PATH command will automatically return detailed status information for the
specified command parameters. This updated status information can be compared with the
status information obtained in Task 2 in order to verify that the START PATH command
completed successfully.
