Preparing ServerNet/FX Adapters for Processor
Multifunction (PMF) or I/O Multifunction (IOMF) CRU
The following example of a STATUS PATH command shows values of zero (0) in the
Path Down and CPU Stuck fields which indicates all FOX direct logical paths are up
from the local cluster to remote clusters.
To verify overall FOX ring connectivity, the above tasks must be repeated on each
cluster in the FOX ring that is running software which supports the ServerNet/FX Path
Management Facility.
Preparing ServerNet/FX Adapters for
Processor Multifunction (PMF) or I/O
Multifunction (IOMF) CRU Replacement
This subsection explains the following procedures for preparing ServerNet/FX adapters
when a PMF or IOMF CRU must be replaced:
SCF> STATUS PATH $ZZFOX
FOX Status PATH \GATE3.$ZZFOX
At 29 Feb 2001, 15:32:45.556
Local Cluster
-------------
Cluster Number... 3 XLBU Logical State.... STARTED
System Name...... \GATE3 YLBU Logical State.... STARTED
System Number.... 56 TOS Version........... Q06
Remote Cluster(s)
-----------------
Cluster System System TOS CPUs Path CPU
Number Name Number Version UP Down Stuck
------- ------ ------ ------- ---- ---- -----
5 \GATE5 54 Q06 16 0 0
12 \GATE12 52 Q06 16 0 0
Note. Although a CPU stuck state is symmetric on two processors over different clusters, the
STATUS PATH command returns CPU stuck state details from the perspective of the local
cluster. The remote cluster may take up to 10 minutes to declare a CPU stuck state for the
same FOX direct logical connection.

Note. Guided replacement procedures are now the only supported method for replacing a
PMF CRU or IOMF CRU. For information on replacing a PMF CRU, see Task 3: Replace the
PMF CRU on page 3-31 or Task 5: Replace the PMF CRU on page 3-35. For information on
replacing an IOMF CRU, see Task 2: Replace the IOMF CRU on page 3-40.
