Procedures for Preparing ServerNet/FX Adapters for
PMF CRU Replacement
ServerNet fabric that was affected by the replacement of the PMF CRU must be
stopped and then restarted.
PMF CRU replacement involving even-numbered processors will cause the X
ServerNet fabric for the companion processor running in the same enclosure to be
brought down and then up. As a result, the companion processor will lose its
connection to the LBU for the ServerNet FX adapter connected to the X-ring.
To bring up the connection from the LBU for the ServerNet FX adapter connected
to the X-ring to the X ServerNet fabric, issue the following ServerNet/FX adapter
subsystem commands:
SCF> STOP LBU $ZZFOX.#X
SCF> START LBU $ZZFOX.#X
PMF CRU replacement involving odd-numbered processors will cause the Y
ServerNet fabric for the companion processor running in the same enclosure to be
brought down and then up. As a result, the companion processor will lose its
connection to the LBU for the ServerNet FX adapter connected to the Y-ring.
To bring up the connection from the LBU for the ServerNet FX adapter connected
to the Y-ring to the Y ServerNet fabric, issue the following ServerNet/FX adapter
subsystem commands:
SCF> STOP LBU $ZZFOX.#Y
SCF> START LBU $ZZFOX.#Y
WARNING. This step is necessary if the enclosure containing the replaced PMF CRU contains
another running processor. The availability of FOX logical paths will be temporarily lowered.
There must be another LBU available for other processors to use while this step is carried out.
