LBU Object Logical States
LBU Object Logical States
The logical state of an LBU object ($ZZFOX.#X or $ZZFOX.#Y) determines what SCF 
commands can act on the object. Table 4-3 lists the different logical states for an LBU 
object.
Table 4-4 lists the valid logical states for each SCF command.
STARTED The object is initialized and ready for normal data traffic. The flow of 
information is unrestricted.
STARTING The object is being initialized and is in transition to the STARTED state.
STOPPED The object is configured, there are no links either to or from the object, 
and no new links may be established. A nonconfigured object cannot 
report this state because in the process of stopping the object is deleted.
Note. The term ServerNet/FX adapter refers to the ServerNet/FX and the ServerNet/FX 2 
adapter hardware.

Logical State Description
UNDEFINED The LBU object ($ZZFOX.#X or $ZZFOX.#Y) is not in the configuration data 
base.
UNKNOWN Although the LBU object ($ZZFOX.#X or $ZZFOX.#Y) is in the configuration 
data base, the FOX monitor process ($ZZFOX) received an error from the 
configuration data base or the Service Processor. Only the START LBU 
command can be used in this state.
ABSENT Although the LBU object ($ZZFOX.#X or $ZZFOX.#Y) is in the configuration 
data base, the Service Processor is unable to locate the ServerNet/FX 
adapter board on the NonStop S-series server.
STOPPED Although the LBU object ($ZZFOX.#X or $ZZFOX.#Y) is in the configuration 
data base and the Service Processor can locate the ServerNet/FX adapter 
board on the NonStop S-series server, the microcode has not been 
downloaded to the adapter.
STARTED The LBU object ($ZZFOX.#X or $ZZFOX.#Y) is in the configuration data 
base, the Service Processor can locate the ServerNet/FX adapter board on 
the NonStop S-series server, and the microcode has been downloaded to 
the adapter.
