CONNECT Command
CONNECT Command
The CONNECT command logically connects a link on the FOX ring subnetwork for the
specified LBU object. You need to use the CONNECT command only after
disconnecting a link on the FOX ring by using the DISCONNECT command. When a
ServerNet/FX adapter is started using the START LBU command, the ServerNet/FX
adapter is automatically connected logically to its neighbors. CONNECT is a sensitive
command.
The CONNECT command syntax is
OUT file-spec
causes any SCF output generated for this command to be directed to the specified
file.
LBU
is a keyword specifying that an LBU name comes next on the command line.
LBU-name
is the name of the LBU ($ZZFOX.#X or $ZZFOX.#Y) associated with the
ServerNet/FX adapter that connects its left or right side to the FOX ring
subnetwork.
{ LEFT | RIGHT }
specifies the direction in which communications are established.
Consideration
To better understand the CONNECT command, visualize a ServerNet/FX adapter as
having two sides, as shown in Figure 4-1 on page 4-18.
