SNAX Connection Manager (SNAX/CM) Manual

Appendix A SNAX/CM Event Messages
097842 Tandem Computers Incorporated A–1
The SNAX Connection Manager subsystem issues Event Management System (EMS)
event messages in addition to any SNAX/CM log messages (described in Appendix
B). This section lists each event message, the tokens included, the corresponding
SNAX/CM log message, and any error recovery procedures.
SNAX/CM Event
Messages
The SNAX/CM subsystem provides information about events that occur in the
subsystem by issuing event messages. A network-management application can obtain
these event messages by opening an Event Management Service (EMS) distributor
process and requesting the messages. The application can also specify that a filter be
applied to select certain event messages.
Not all event messages received by an application will come from SNAX/CM.
SNAX/CM generates event messages only for events that involve the objects under its
control. These messages contain a new subsystem identifier (SSID), ZSXC, defined
specifically for SNAX/CM. (For more information about subsystem IDs, refer to the
Distributed Systems Management (DSM) Programming Manual.) The SNAX/XF
subsystem ID is described in Section 6, “Common Definitions.”
Following is a list of the ZSXC event numbers and messages for SNAX/CM. Each
message is described more fully later in this section.
