SNAX Creator-2 Configuration and Control Manual

Appendix D Configuring SNAX Creator-2
With SNAX/APN
117143 SNAX Creator-2 Configuration and Control Manual D–1
This appendix assumes that you are familiar with the SNAX/APN extended logon
facility (XLF) and Tandem Logon Manager for IBM Systems (ILOGMGR). The
SNAX/APN Configuration and Control Manual and the Tandem Logon Manager for IBM
Systems (ILOGMGR) Manual provide functional descriptions and detailed
configuration information for those products.
Users log onto an application from terminals controlled by VTAM in one of two ways:
1. By typing:
LOGON APPLID (
pluname
) [ DATA (…) ]
where
pluname
is the local name of an application. A DATA value is only
required for some configurations and may be entered by the user.
2. By typing:
entryname
where
entryname
is the name of a VTAM unformatted system services (USS)
table entry which provides the PLU name and the logon user data.
The example uses the first method and does not require user data. It shows one
application for each startup method:
A Pathway application (with user name mypath)
A TACL process (with user name mytacl)
A server-started application (with user name myprog)
The logon is identified by VTAM, using the VTAM list, and forwarded to the
ILOGMGR (ibm1). Using the control file, the ILOGMGR forwards the request to the
associated SNAX/APN logon manager (tn) on the Tandem system.
