SNAX Creator-2 Configuration and Control Manual

Appendix E Configuring SNAX Creator-2
With SNAX/XF
117143 SNAX Creator-2 Configuration and Control Manual E–1
SNAX/XF configurations include SCF object definitions and enhanced system services
(ESS) table entries (defined by the SNAX Utility). SNAX/XF users logon to an
application by typing the name of an ESS table entry. If required, logon user data can
be provided e specifying a CONCDATA value in the ESS table entry.
SNAX/XF SCF objects and attributes are described in the SCF Reference Manual for
SNAX/XF. ESS tables are described in the SNAX/XF LU Network Services Manual.
Configuration examples are provided for both new SNAX/XF configurations and
existing SNAX/XF configurations (migrating from the old Creator process (T6954) ).
New SNAX/XF
Configurations
The following two examples illustrate SNAX Creator-2 configurations suitable for new
SNAX/XF configurations.
The configuration examples define one application for each startup method:
A Pathway application (with user logon mypath)
A TACL process (with user logon mytacl)
A server-started application (with user logon myprog).
Separate connections are defined for each application; this allows the SNAX Creator-2
APPL names to be distinct.
Notes:
1. On the SU objects:
NAMERULE is omitted (defaulting to PLUNAMEONLY).
As a result, APPL objects are named C-
pluname
, where
pluname
is the PLU
name provided by either the SNAX/XF configuration (first example) or the SNAX
Creator-2 configuration (second example).
PASSWORD is optional, but if used must match the SNAX/XF value.
2. Server messages would typically include, as shown, the logon terminal name (in
the examples, provided by the [#OPENNAME] built-in function) and application
object file (in the examples, $disk.subvol.obj).
3. $CREA is the manager name of the SNAX Creator-2 subsystem through which the
commands are issued.
4. $SSCP is the name of the SNAX/XF service manager and \node the system on
which it is running.
5. Highlighting indicates names and values that must correspond.
