input sources. SCF accepts command input from a terminal or a disk file. The initial
input source is determined by the form of the RUN command used to initiate SCF. At
any time during an SCF session, the input source can be temporarily changed.
line-handler process. A type of process in SNAX/XF or SNAX/APN that handles input
and output across a communication line.
logon manager. See Tandem Logon Manager for IBM Systems (ILOGMGR) and
SNAX/APN logon manager (TLOGMGR).
node. A system within a network of systems.
nonconfigurable object. An object whose attributes cannot be altered through SCF.
nonsensitive command. A subsystem command that can be issued by any user or
program that is allowed access to the subsystem. For SNAX Creator-2, the
nonsensitive commands are all those that cannot change the state of configuration of
objects. See also sensitive command.
null object type. A place-holder object type for objects that do not require explicit
specification of a particular object type.
object. In SCF, a resource controlled by a subsystem. Each object has an object type
and an object name. The object type describes the type of the object, such as
CONNECTION and SESSION. The object name uniquely identifies an object within
the subsystem.
object name. The name that uniquely identifies an object within the subsystem.
object state. A defined possible condition of an object.
object type. The category of objects to which a specific object belongs.
operator message. A message displayed at the operator console. This message may be
an informational, warning, error, or event message.
output destination. The destination to which the Subsystem Control Facility (SCF)
directs output. The destination can be a disk file, an application process, a terminal, or
a printer. The initial output destination is determined by the form of the RUN
command used to initiate SCF. The output destination can be changed dynamically
during an SCF session.
PLU. See primary logical unit.
primary logical unit (PLU). A logical unit (LU) that issues a Bind Session request to
establish an LU-LU session.
process. See application process.
SCF. See Subsystem Control Facility (SCF).
SCP. See Subsystem Control Point (SCP).
secondary logical unit (SLU). The partner that receives the Bind Session request in a
Systems Network Architecture (SNA) LU-LU session.
