SNAX Creator-2 Configuration and Control Manual

3 Objects for SNAX Creator-2
117143 SNAX Creator-2 Configuration and Control Manual 3–1
The individual components of a SNAX Creator-2 subsystem are called objects. Objects
can be configured, controlled, and queried by the operator. Each object belongs to an
object type. For example, a particular application might be an object of type APPL.
SNAX Creator-2 contains six object types: APPL, CONNECTION, ENTRY, SESSION,
SU, and SUBSYS.

Hierarchy of
Object Types
A hierarchical relationship exists among the object types in a SNAX Creator-2
subsystem. The SNAX Creator-2 subsystem is of type SUBSYS. The object types
APPL, ENTRY, SESSION, and SU are subordinate to the object type SUBSYS. The
object type CONNECTION is subordinate to the object type SU. Figure 3-1 shows this
hierarchical relationship.

SESSION and CONNECTION objects are automatically created by the
SNAX Creator-2 process. Therefore, you cannot change these objects through SCF;
they are not configurable.
Note Some SCF commands for SNAX Creator-2 support the null object type. The null object type is not a true
object type, but indicates that the command can be issued without specifying an object type.
