MC-SEND-ERROR (F8)
MC-SEND-ERROR (F8)
The MC-SEND-ERROR verb notifies the partner TP that the local TP has detected an
error. The local TP can issue the MC-SEND-ERROR verb in either the send or Receive
state. If the local TP is in the Receive state, the MC-SEND-ERROR verb notifies the
partner TP that the received data cannot be processed. If the local TP is in the Send
state, the MC-SEND-ERROR verb notifies the partner TP that recently sent data
contains an error. The MC-SEND-ERROR verb does not terminate the conversation.
If the local TP is in the Send state, the MC-SEND-ERROR verb causes SNAX/APC to
transmit the contents of the send buffer to the partner TP. The FMH-7 response
generated by the MC-SEND-ERROR verb is not transmitted until a later request causes
the send buffer to be transmitted again. The MC-SEND-ERROR verb completes
immediately.
If the local TP is in Receive state, the SEND-ERROR verb completes immediately and
changes the local TP to Send state. SNAX/APC sends a negative response to the remote
TP. The FMH-7 generated by the SEND-ERROR verb is not transmitted until a later
request flushes the buffer again. The FMH-7 directs the remote LU to halt the data flow;
the remote LU responds with end-of-chain and change direction indicators.
