Verb Definitions
This section describes the request and reply formats for the SNAX/APC verbs (UOWs).
The verbs are presented in the following groups:
Control verbs—intended for use by control-operator TPs, that is, programs that
assist the control operator in performing functions related to the control of an LU.
Basic conversation verbs—intended for use by LU services programs. The LU
services programs can provide end-user services or protocol boundaries for end-user
application transaction programs.
Mapped conversation verbs—intended for use by application transaction programs.
These verbs provide functions that are suitable for application programs that are
written in high-level programming languages.
Type-independent verbs—intended for use with both mapped and basic
conversations. These verbs provide functions that span both conversation types.
Verbs specific to Tandem products—created exclusively for the use of SNAX/APC.
There is no functional equivalent in the IBM option sets.
