ALLOCATE Verb
ALLOCATE Verb
A TP uses the ALLOCATE verb to establish a conversation with a remote TP.
ALLOCATE should be the first verb issued after a TP has locally attached itself to the
SNAX/APC process (using a LOCAL TP-READY request). A TP can also allocate
other TPs after being attached by a remote TP.
An ALLOCATE verb can be issued such that it completes under one of two sets of
conditions (as specified in the AL-RET-CONTROL field of the request):
•
The request completes immediately, with a return code indicating whether the
allocation was successful or not.
•
The request waits until the local TP has control of the session before completing.
ALLOCATE causes SNAX/APC to create an attach (FMH-5). SNAX/APC does not
send the attach to the partner LU until the buffer is flushed.
SNAX/APC has conversation security through the support of a program-supplied user
ID and password when a SNAX/APC transaction program allocates a conversation. To
support conversation security, SNAX/APC requires IPC version code S3 or S5. You
must specify the S3 or S5 version code if you want to use the conversation security
feature.
SNAX/APC supports a limited set of the APPC sync point services. For sync point
support, SNAX/APC requires IPC version code S5.
