Configuring a Partner LU
defined PTNR-MODEs (#DEFAULT, #BATCH, #INTER, #BATCHSC, and
#INTERSC), all attributes can be altered.
ABORT/STOP Command
This command does not apply to the SNASVCMG PTNR-MODE if the wild card is
specified in the object name. SNASVCMG PTNR-MODE has to be explicitly specified
in an ABORT/STOP command.
The ABORT/STOP command does apply to the rest of the SNA-defined PTNR-
MODEs, #DEFAULT, #BATCH, #INTER, #BATCHSC, and #INTERSC if the
command contains wild cards.
START Command
This command does not apply to the SNASVCMG PTNR-MODE if a wild card is
specified in the object name. SNASVCMG PTNR-MODE needs to be explicitly
specified as the command object name.
Configuring a Partner LU
The partner LU is the remote LU, a potential session partner to the local LU. The
partner LU may be configured statically or dynamically.
Static Configuration
To configure a static partner LU, the minimum specification requirements are:
•
The local name (PTNR-LU object name) and SNA network name (SNANAME
attribute) of the partner LU
When the minimum requirements are specified, you also get the following defaults:
PARALLEL-SESSION-LU NO (partner LU is a single-session LU) and PERIPHERAL-
NODE NO (partner LU resides on subarea node).
Optionally, you can define the following characteristics:
•
The type of node (peripheral node or subarea node) on which the partner LU resides
(PERIPHERAL-NODE attribute). If PERIPHERAL-NODE YES is specified,
SNAX/APC acts as the primary LU; if PERIPHERAL-NODE NO is specified,
SNAX/APC acts as the secondary LU.
•
The session support of the partner LU for either parallel or single sessions
(PARALLEL-SESSION-LU attribute)
Dynamic Configuration
There are no direct configuration requirements for a dynamically created/configured
partner LU, although you must have configured the corresponding local LU with
DYNAMICSUPPORT YES. Support differs depending on whether you configured the
local LU for single or parallel sessions.
