TRANSLATE Command
TRANSLATE Command
Use the TRANSLATE command to change the translate options for DATA and BIU
records (those identified with the markers <DIN>, <DOUT>, <BIN>, and <BOUT>).
The default translation modes for DATA and BIU records are different. The translation
mode for DATA records is ASCII; the translation mode for BIU records is EBCDIC.
The formatter displays the translated text in the bracketed area to the right of the data.
The TRANSLATE command with no parameters resets the DATA and BIU record
translations to their default settings.
Examples
The following example sets the BIU record translation to ASCII and displays the data in
a BIU record. The translation is restored to EBCDIC, and the BIU record is displayed
again.
