ABORT PTNR-LU Command
ABORT PTNR-LU Command
The ABORT PTNR-LU command places the target PTNR-LU object in the STOPPED
state.
Considerations
After issuing an ABORT PTNR-LU command, the local LU can no longer initiate
sessions with the target partner LU. Similarly, BIND requests sent from the target
partner LU are rejected.
The reserved PTNR-MODE object named SNASVCMG is brought down
automatically (if it is not already in the STOPPED state); therefore, you do not need
to explicitly abort the PTNR-MODE object named SNASVCMG.
A PTNR-LU object can be aborted while it is in the STARTING state.
Examples
-> ASSUME PROCESS $APC1
-> ABORT PTNR-LU LU01.CICSLU62
-> ASSUME LU $APC.LU01
-> ABORT PTNR-LU CICSLU62
-> ABORT PTNR-LU $APC1.LU01.CICSLU62
ABORT PTNR-MODE Command
The ABORT PTNR-MODE command leaves the target PTNR-MODE object in the
STOPPING state, and initiates a RESET_SESSION_LIMIT CNOS verb with the
following parameter settings:
Upon completion of the RESET_SESSION_LIMIT CNOS verb, the target
PTNR-MODE object is placed in the STOPPED state. As a result, the local LU
deactivates its subordinate sessions as soon as the conversations allocated to these
sessions are deallocated. If there are any free sessions, they are deactivated immediately.
This command does not apply to the SNASVCMG PTNR-MODE if the wild card
specified in the object name command contains wild cards. SNASVCMG
PTNR-MODE has to be explicitly specified in an ABORT or STOP command. However,
the ABORT or STOP command does apply to the rest of the SNA-defined
