8-24
ALTER LU Command
treated as a parallel-session LU and the TPN object named %06F1% and the
PTNR-MODE object named SNASVCMG are added automatically.
You can configure all 32 LUs to have MAXSESSION set to 1024, but no more than
1024 sessions are allowed to be active.
SNANAME uninterpreted-lu-name
specifies the name of the local LU as it is known by the partner system. It can be up
to 17 characters, if entered in the form:
[net-id.]local-LU-name
where net-id is up to 8 characters long and local-LU-name is up to 8
characters long. If the partner system changes its name for the local LU, you can
change the value of this attribute without affecting the local transaction program.
The net-id name value is the network identifier of a fully-qualified SNA LU
name. If you are using SNAX/APN, the net-id name value has to match the
SNANETID attribute, which is a required attribute of the SNAX/APN SUBSYS
object.
Note that the object name entered for the local-LU-name is the name by which
the local LU is known to the Tandem system, while the SNANAME must match the
LU name by which it is known to the remote system. The SNANAME, rather than
the local-LU-name value, is used for building SNA requests (such as the
session activation BIND request).
If you are using SNAX/APN, this value of this attribute must match the SNANAME
attribute specified in the access method’s configuration of the LU, as specified in the
SNAXFILENAME attribute.
SNAXFILENAME access-method-subdevice-name
specifies the file name of the Tandem access method that this local LU uses to
exchange information with an SNA network. Although SNAX/APC does not check
for duplicate files, every local LU should have a distinct value for the
SNAXFILENAME attribute, because SNAX/APC issues the OPEN request to the
underlying access method exclusively. If multiple LUs have the same
SNAXFILENAME, all LUs except the one that was started first will encounter the
file system error number 61 (no more file opens permitted on the device) when the
LU is started.
If you are using the SNAX/CDF access method, enter the OPENNAME of the
SNAX/CDF APPL object associated with this SNAX/APC LU. The name you
specify must include the SNAX/CDF process name and must match the
OPENNAME of a previously defined SNAX/CDF APPL object. The form of the
name must be:
$snax/cdf-name.#openname
