ALTER PTNR-MODE Command
PERIPHERAL-NODE { YES | NO }
specifies whether the partner LU resides on a peripheral node or a subarea node.
YES specifies that the partner LU resides on a peripheral node. If the partner LU is
not a parallel-session LU, the partner LU is also a secondary LU (SLU).
NO specifies that the partner LU resides on a subarea node. If the partner LU is not
a parallel-session LU, the partner LU is also a primary LU (PLU).
If the partner LU is a parallel-session LU, the partner LU’s role (SLU or PLU) is not
indicated.
SNANAME uninterpreted-lu-name
specifies the name of the partner LU as it is known in the SNA network. It can be
up to 17 characters long if it is entered in the form:
[net-id.]partner-LU-name
where net-id is up to 8 characters long and partner-LU-name is up to 8
characters long.
The net-id name value is the network identifier of a fully-qualified SNA LU
name. If you are using SNAX/APN, the net-id name value has to match the
SNANETID attribute, which is a required attribute of the SNAX/APN SUBSYS
object.
Note that the object name entered for partner-LU-name is the name by which
the partner LU is known to the Tandem system. The SNANAME, rather than the
partner-LU-name name, is used for building SNA requests (such as the session
activation BIND request).
Consideration
The target PTNR-LU object can only be altered when it is in the STOPPED state.
Examples
-> ASSUME PROCESS $APC1
-> ALTER PTNR-LU LU01.CICSLU62, PERIPHERAL-NODE NO
-> ALTER PTNR-LU $APC1.LU01.CICS, SNANAME CICS0001, &
LOCAL-LU-SECURITY-ACCEPTANCE CONV, PARALLEL-SESSION-LU YES
ALTER PTNR-MODE Command
If the target PTNR-MODE object is in the STARTED state, the ALTER PTNR-MODE
command issues a CHANGE_SESSION_LIMIT CNOS verb. Only the MAXSESSION,
MINCONLOSER, MINCONWINNER, and RESPONSIBLE attributes can be altered
when the PTNR-MODE is in the STARTED state.
If the target PTNR-MODE object is in the STOPPED state, the ALTER PTNR-MODE
command changes the default attribute settings of the PTNR-MODE object. All
attributes except the MAXSESSION, MINCONLOSER, MINCONWINNER, and
