TRACE Command
Object Specification
The object specification for the SNAX/APC TRACE command is:
General Command Parameters
The attributes that apply to both the LU and the PROCESS object types are:
STOP
discontinues a trace that is currently in progress.
TO file-name
specifies the file to which trace information is to be written. If the file already
exists, it is purged before a new file is created. If the file does not exist, a new file is
created with an extent size of 100 pages for primary extent and 20 pages for each of
the secondary extents.
PAGES number
designates how much space, in units of pages, is allocated in the extended data
segment used for tracing. PAGES can only be specified when you are initiating
trace. The range is 5 to 32767, and 300 is the default.
RECSIZE number
specifies the length in bytes of the trace data records. The range is 80 to 4000, and
the default is 250. The length of the trace header, which is 22 bytes, is not included
in the number.
SELECT ALL | [(] opt [ , opt ... ] [)]
specifies what information about the traced object is to be collected. Generally, it is
advisable to specify all options (ALL) for tracing. ALL is the default.
If you do not want to select ALL, one or more of the following trace options may be
selected. If you select more than one of the following options, the options must be
separated by commas and the entire list must be surrounded by parentheses. The
other tracing options are:
DATA
traces data sent between transaction programs and SNAX/APC.
