CNOS verbs
CNOS verbs. Verbs that a control operator program uses to control the number of sessions
between a pair of LUs.
command file. An EDIT file that contains a series of commands and serves as a source of
command input.
configuration. (1) The arrangement of enclosures, system components, and peripheral
devices into a working unit. (2) The definition or alteration of characteristics of an
object.
control operator program. For LU 6.2, a service transaction program that describes and
controls the availability of certain resources. For example, it describes network
resources accessed by the local LU and it controls session limits between the LU and its
partners. For SNAX/APC, this is implemented in SCF.
control operator verb. One of the verbs that a control operator program uses to control LU
definitions, session activation and the number of sessions between LUs.
conversation. In SNA, a logical connection between two transaction programs using an LU
6.2 session. Conversations are delimited by brackets to gain exclusive use of a session.

conversation-level security. APPC Security: Allows client TPs to send a User ID and
password in a request to start a conversation and it allows the receiving LU to verify the
identity of the requestor before satisfying the request.
conversation state. In LU 6.2, one of a set of states that define when a specific transaction
program can issue specific conversational verb requests.
conversational verb. One of the verbs that an application program uses to implement a
conversation. These include basic conversation verbs, mapped conversation verbs,
independent verbs and Tandem-specific verbs.
data definition language (DDL). A language and compiler used to define SPI token codes,
token maps, and token types and to generate a DDL definition file and language-specific
definition files; the language-specific files can be included in the source code for
management applications or management interfaces that use SPI.

applications or management interfaces that use SPI procedures.
DFC. Data flow control.
DIN. Data transmitted to SNAX/APC.
Dispatcher. The SNAX/APC function that initiates a transaction program when one is
requested by a remote LU.
