S-Records (SNA Sense Codes)
S-records provide the interpretation of SNA sense codes. Starting in column 7 is a
numeric field terminated by a blank. This field is reserved. Following this field is the
logging disposition as described above. If logging or EMS are enabled, the sending or
receiving of a negative response will generate a log message and EMS event depending
on the logging disposition of the SNA sense code carried in the negative response.
Recommendations for Editing the APCMSGS File
It is recommended that if you change the APCMSGS file, take a copy of the file
supplied with the product.
This file must exist in the same subvolume as the SNAX/APC object file when the
process is run. SNAX/APC reads the contents of the file into internal memory and does
not keep the file open during execution. It will only re-open its message file if it is
altered using the SCF (SPI) ALTER PROCESS MSG command, while the process is
executing.
All other records in this file are reserved, and should not be changed.
Configuration Parameters for SNAX/APC
SNAX/APC obtains information about its files and other configuration parameters
through a number of parameters (or PARAMs). These PARAMs can be defined either in
TACL or in PATHCOM. If you use the APCRUN TACL macro, the PARAMs are
automatically defined for you.
If a startup parameter is incorrectly specified, SNAX/APC will abend. The TACL
command CLEAR ALL should be used before defining the startup parameters.
