Using APCRUN to Set Up the PATHMON
Environment
generated by the SNAX/APC servers. To suppress events supply the value OFF
(case insensitive).
Note: If COLLECTOR is the last option you supply, then omitting a value is
equivalent to OFF.
CPU[S] server-number-cpu:cpu
specifies the primary and backup CPUs for a SNAX/APC process pair.
server-number can be set to ALL to designate all SNAX/APC processes, or
it can specify a single SNAX/APC server by number.
DIS[PATCHER[S]] number
specifies the number of dispatchers for each SNAX/APC server. Each
dispatcher is given a name of the form SNAXAPCSnnmm, where nn denotes the
server number and mm denotes the dispatcher number. If you omit this option,
no dispatchers are created.
EMSLOG EMS-collector-name [(STATUS)]
specifies that the PATHMON process is to produce EMS events, and names the
EMS collector. Optionally, you may select that change of status events be
generated to the collector, by supplying the (STATUS) keyword as shown above.
If this parameter is used, any log file supplied in the LOG option (or the default
log file Z{prefix}LOG) is used only during the time the PATHMON process is
starting up. If you require the PATHMON process to use a log file and issue
EMS events, you will need to use the EMSLOG 2 option detailed below. For
those of you familiar with the Pathway environment, the value of the LOG
option is used with the OUT TACL option when the PATHMON process is run,
then the value of the EMSLOG option is used in the LOG1 command to
PATHCOM when the PATHMON environment is defined.
EMSLOG2 EMS-collector-name[(STATUS)]
specifies that the PATHMON process is to produce EMS events, and names the
EMS collector. Optionally you may select that change of status events be
generated to the collector, by supplying the (STATUS)keyword as shown above.
For those of you familiar with the Pathway environment, the value of the LOG
option is used with the OUT TACL option when the PATHMON process is run,
then the value of the EMSLOG2 option is used in the LOG2 command to
PATHCOM when the PATHMON environment is defined.
Using EMSLOG2 does not affect the log file used by the PATHMON process.
The PATHMON process will still log messages to the file specified with the
LOG option (or the default Z{prefix}LOG), assuming the EMSLOG1 option is
not also used.
EMSSUP[PRESS] Hexadecimal-Bit-Mask
This bit mask is used to suppress EMS events generated by SNAX/APC on the
basis of object type. If the appropriate bit is set (=1), then events for the objects
