The ADD PTNR-MODE Command
The ADD PTNR-MODE command defines a new (LU, Mode) entry to the SNAX/APC
process.
The attribute specification for the PTNR-MODE object of the SNAX/APC ADD
command consists of the following attribute name and value combinations:
PTNR-MODE partner-mode
identifies the local name of the mode to be created.
LIKE partner-mode2
identifies an existing PTNR-MODE object whose attribute values serve as the model
for the values of the attributes of the partner mode being created.
MODENAME modename
specifies the mode name that is used for building SNA requests (such as the session
activation BIND request). The value entered for the MODENAME attribute must be
unique among all of the PTNR-MODE objects subordinate to the same PTNR-LU
object.
If the local LU and partner LU are connected by parallel sessions, a mode name of
SNASVCMG is created automatically. SNASVCMG is the SNA-defined mode
name that is used for exchanging the CNOS requests and replies. The name
SNASVCMG is reserved for this use, and therefore cannot be entered as the
modename value.
DEFAULTMAXINRUSIZE number
specifies the maximum size of normal flow request units (RUs) that the local LU can
receive over sessions started with this mode. Valid values are from 16 through
16,000. Although 16,000 is the maximum value allowed by SNAX/APC, the actual
maximum is 15,360. This is because SNAX/APC adjusts the value specified to the
largest RU size defined by SNA that is less than or equal to the value specified by
the DEFAULTMAXINRUSIZE attribute.
