ADD SESS
Commands and Responses
5–22 111813 Tandem Computers Incorporated
ADD SESS When the ADD command is applied to the object type ZCOM-OBJ-SESS, no additional
tokens are involved.
Operational Notes
The ZCOM-TKN-OBJNAME is a template with the following format:
$
apc-process
.
local-lu
.
partner-lu
.
partner-mode
.*
The asterisk (*) in the command syntax is required and refers to the session ID
associated with each session. Because the value for the session ID is assigned by
the system, it cannot be explicitly specified in the command; the asterisk is a place
holder for the session ID. Once the session has been started, you can use the
INFO, NAMES, or STATUS commands to determine the session ID that was
assigned.
The ADD SESS command activates a session for the specified PTNR-MODE object;
an LU 6.2 Session Control verb (ACTIVATE_SESSION) is issued on behalf of the
ADD SESS command. As a result, a BIND request is sent to the partner LU to
initiate a session. Upon receipt of the positive BIND response, the session is
placed in the STARTED state. If a negative BIND response is returned, the ADD
SESS command failed.
