SNAX/APC Management Programming Manual

4 Common Definitions
111813 Tandem Computers Incorporated 4–1
The token-oriented programmatic interface to the SNAX/APC subsystem uses
definitions from four different sources: the SPI standard definitions, the EMS standard
definitions, the data communications standard definitions, and the SNAX/APC
definitions. This section discusses the definitions from these four sources that can be
used in a management application to communicate with SNAX/APC.
The information in this section is general information that applies to all uses of the
definitions in the interface to SNAX/APC. Information about a definition that is
specific to a particular command, response, event message, or error list is given in the
description for that message in Section 5, Section 6, or Appendix A.
All definitions in this section are represented in Data Definition Language (DDL).
Structures are defined by using DDL DEF statements. For a quick explanation of DDL,
see the appendix “Overview of DDL for SPI” in the SPI Programming Manual.
Standard SPI
Definitions Used by
SNAX/APC
Definitions whose symbolic names begin with the characters ZSPI- are standard SPI
definitions.
Table 4-1 lists all the standard SPI definitions that are used in the token-oriented
programmatic interface to SNAX/APC. These definitions consist of:
Simple tokens used in SNAX/APC commands, responses, event messages, and
error lists
Header tokens and other special tokens
Token and field values
Structures and token types used in other definitions
