Request Details
VERB–CODE
identifies the request by an integer constant (of value 1), named as follows:
VERB–OPEN–SESSION (in SCOBOL)
VERB^OPEN^SESSION (in TAL)
SESSION–ID
is unused.
LU–NAME
identifies the SNALU LU being allocated. At present, only the name of a
SNAX/XF LU or the OPENNAME of the SNAX/CDF APPL object can be
specified. They are represented in standard internal file format.
PROFILE–NAME
is the name of a PROFILE record in the RDT (Resource Definition Table).
APPLICATION–NAME
is a string of ASCII characters left– justified with trailing blanks. It may be entirely
blank.
For a PLU (that is, one that issues a BIND), a nonblank entry allows the user to
override the PLU name built into the BIND image derived either from the RDT
(for primary–acquire sessions) or the CINIT message (for primary–accept
sessions). This allows an application to control the value of the PLU name that
appears in the BIND image.
For a secondary–acquire LU, a nonblank in this field allows the user to override
the SLU name from the RDT that appears in the INIT–SELF message. It usually
identifies the primary application whose services are being requested.
For secondary–accept LUs, this field is unused.
PIPELINE–LU–IND
indicates whether the session opener intends this session to be handled in a
pipelined manner. Note that this is a check, since this must also be specified in the
RDT.
