DEALLOCATE Verb
Application Prototyping and Simulation (APS) System

Deal:
HLS-DEALLOCATE
Verb (SF5)
The HLS-DEALLOCATE request is used to deallocate the session. If the session is not
yet closed (data traffic is still possible), it is closed for you. This step is the final step in
the life of a session. Any messages queued to the session no longer are accessible to
your program. If your use of the session is the only one (which is always true unless
you are using pipelined sessions), the session is completely deleted from SNAX/HLS.
If you used HLS-ALLOCATE to allocate the session, you must use the HLS-
DEALLOCATE verb to deallocate the session.
To execute this verb in an APS session, display the request screen by pressing shifted
F5, and press the SEND function key (F12) to cause SNAX/HLS to execute the function
and deallocate the session.
Figure 6-7 presents a sample HLS-DEALLOCATE request.
