SNAX/HLS Application Programming Manual

RECEIVEDATA Verb
Application Prototyping and Simulation (APS) System
104707 Tandem Computers Incorporated 6–49
prepared_to_close
The session partner is prepared to terminate the session in an orderly fashion.
You are expected to issue a PREPARE-TO-CLOSE verb.
partner_data
The message is a data message from the session partner.
request_close
The session partner requests session closure.
session_closed
This identifies the specific SNA event that led to the closure of the session.
You see this message only if you opened the session with the HLS-
ALLOCATE and HLS-OPEN verbs.
signal
The session partner has sent an SNA SIG request. This might come from a
SNAX/HLS partner issuing the REQUEST-SEND-STATE verb, or an
ATTENTION key on a terminal. The APS user should set
PREPARE-TO-RECEIVE on the next send verb to allow the session partner to
enter send state. The hexadecimal display to the right of the data area
provides a convenient display of the actual status bytes.
sscp_data
The message is from the SSCP. This value can be received only if the PROFILE
of the session allows SSCP data.
Length
Is the length of the received data in bytes. Note that some special messages
(ATTENTION and LUSTAT) are internally converted from binary to display
hexadecimal. The length field always reflects the length of the data received
from the session partner and not the internally converted length.
User Data
Contains the text of the message. Note that non-displayable characters are
converted to periods (.). Only the first 80 bytes of the message are displayed.
The Hex function can be used to display messages with nondisplayable
characters or longer text.
