Send: Send the Verb
(F12)
The SEND function key causes the verb request displayed on the screen to be sent to
SNAX/HLS for execution. The emphasis on the verb function-key label moves to the
F12/SEND label, a verb request is sent to the SNAX/HLS server, a verb reply is
accepted from the SNAX/HLS server, and the verb reply is displayed. The APS screen
is locked for the duration of the verb execution. Note that if the verb is RECEIVE-
DATA and no data is available in the message queue, the APS requester waits for data
from the session partner. Once the verb reply is displayed on the APS screen, the
emphasis returns to the current verb request.
A verb can be repeated by merely pressing the SEND key again. For example, if
several messages are on the receive queue, the first message can be retrieved by
selecting function key F5 (RD) and pressing function key F12 (SEND). Subsequent
messages can be retrieved after the first message by merely pressing F12 again.
Similarly, data on a SEND-DATA screen can be sent repeatedly by pressing F12.
