SNAX/HLS Verbs

COMPLETION–MODE
specifies the way the SNAX/HLS server responds to your request. One of the
supported alternatives must be supplied. These alternatives are:
Q
Queued response.
W
Wait response. The SNAX/HLS server replies to you only after a Q request is
complete.
For a complete discussion of these completion modes, refer to Section 4, “The Standard
Verb Interface.”
REQUEST–FORMAT
is reserved for future expansion of the verb. This field must contain a blank.
OPERATION
specifies the operation you are requesting. This value can be one of the following:
S Requests your partner to stop sending new objects.
Q Confirms a previously received request to stop sending new objects.
R Releases the stop on sending new objects.
OBJECT
identifies the object referred to in the operation. These can be:
M Messages (called chains in SNA).
T Transactions (called brackets in SNA).
Of the six possible combinations implied above, only four are permitted. With
transactions, only the resume operation is allowed. With messages, all three
operations are allowed.
Reply Details
VERB–CODE
identifies the reply by an integer constant (of value 19), named as follows:
VERB–HLS–FLOW–CONTROL (in SCOBOL)
VERB^HLS^FLOW^CONTROL (in TAL)
SESSION–ID
identifies the session.
