SNAX/HLS Configuration and Control Manual

6 Using the HLSCOM Utility
104705 Tandem Computers Incorporated 6–1
This section provides information about the HLSCOM operating environment, tells
you how to run HLSCOM, and includes a detailed command dictionary.
Operating
Environment
HLSCOM provides a command interface through which operators and system
programmers can control and monitor the SNAX/HLS server activities. The functions
available using HLSCOM commands include:
Operator control of the SNAX/HLS server
Problem determination and diagnosis
System tuning
Trace configuration, enabling, and disabling
Convenience functions
At startup, HLSCOM establishes communication with a SNAX/HLS process and
communicates with this process through SCP using the facilities of the Subsystem
Programmatic Interface (SPI). The operator has control of only one SNAX/HLS
process at a time. The operator can open a second SNAX/HLS process, but this
relinquishes control of the first. Figure 6-1 shows a sample environment for HLSCOM.
