EMS-2
collector-name
assigns a new alternate collector number 2.
collector-name
must be the name
of an EMS collector.
EMS-3
collector-name
assigns a new alternate collector number 3.
collector-name
must be the name
of an EMS collector.
LOG
file-name
assigns a new LOG file.
file-name
is typically the name of a spooler file or
some other process (or omitted to stop logging).
MSG
file-name
assigns a new message file.
file-name
is initially HLSMSGS, but can be
changed.
RDT
file-name
assigns a new RDT file.
file-name
is the name of a valid RDT file.
SSCPTEXTSIZE
number
alters the size of the largest unformatted SSCP-LU message that SNAX/HLS must
accommodate. This value is relevant only for those sessions that have selected the
WANT-SSCP-TEXT PROFILE attribute. The value must be in the range 256 to
30,720. If omitted, a default value of 4,096 is used.
TWOSTEP
number
alters the buffer size at which the two-step read technique to the SNALU interface
will be used. The value must be in the range 0 to 30,720. A value of 0 implies that
two-step reads will never be used. Any change introduced here takes effect with
the next read issued by each session.
Considerations
The ALTER command allows one or more options to be specified. If you specify
more than one, you must separate them with a comma (,).
Changing an EMS collector causes an event to be recorded on the old collector (if
one exists) pointing the reader to the new collector. The first message on the new
collector points the reader to the old collector.
Changing the log file causes a message to be recorded on the old LOG (if one
exists) pointing the reader to the new LOG. The first message on the new LOG
points the reader to the old LOG.
Changing the MSG file might alter the specific text returned to application
programs on CONVERT-ERROR-CODE verbs. It might also affect which internal
