EXIT Command The EXIT command is processed in one of two ways:
1. If HLSTAP is running interactively, the EXIT command stops the current
HLSTAP.
2. If HLSTAP is running noninteractively, the EXIT command exits the current OBEY
file and reduces the nesting level of OBEY-file execution. If the EXIT command
reduces the level to zero, the HLSTAP process is terminated. See the OBEY
command for more information on nesting levels.
E[XIT]
Considerations
The end-of-file character (CTRL-Y) from a terminal has the same effect as an EXIT
command, as does an end-of-file indicator in a file.
The EXIT command can be abbreviated to E.
