SCF Interface to SNAX/XF and SNAX/APN
SCF Interface for NonStop S-Series Servers
SCF commands directed to SNAX/XF and SNAX/APN are sent to an intermediate
process called the Subsystem Control Point (SCP) process, In turn, SCP routes the
SCF commands to the WAN Manager process within the WAN subsystem, as shown in
Figure 11-1.
The WAN Manager process checks the configuration database for the SNAX line
handler and service manager configuration PROFILEs, and then starts both processes.
Once the SNAX subsystem has been started, further SCF commands may have either
a dynamic or persistent effect.
A command with dynamic effect lasts only for the immediate session, it is temporary
and is issued directly to the process in the SNAX subsystem. When the SNAX
subsystem stops, and is restarted, those dynamic SCF commands would have to be
reissued to create an effect. An SCF command with dynamic effect is shown in
Figure 11-2
on page 11-5.
