States for Other Types of Objects
The following paragraphs define these object states.
ABORTING
An object is in the ABORTING state if its function is being terminated as the result of
an ABORT command. ABORTING indicates that sessions and data traffic are being
interrupted abnormally with possible loss of data. The object remains in the
ABORTING state only long enough to perform certain cleanup operations. After these
operations are completed, the object enters the STOPPED state.
Also, after an object enters the ABORTING state, it cannot reenter the STARTED state
without first entering the STOPPED state (in contrast to the STOPPING state, from
which an object can reenter the STARTED state without actually reaching the
STOPPED state).
DIAGNOSING
An object is in the DIAGNOSING state if it is being diagnosed. This object state can be
entered and exited only by means of a diagnostic process, which a user must run
explicitly. For SNAX/XF and SNAX/APN, only, line type 58,5 can be in the
DIAGNOSING state; it does not apply to X.25 lines.
Note that a LINE object must be in the STOPPED state before entering the
DIAGNOSING state.
