ADD LU Command
The cost of maintaining configuration files by reducing the number of ADD LU
commands in those files.
NUMBEROFLUS is best used in configurations where several LUs under a PU share
identical attribute values (except for names and addresses), and where LU names and
addresses are assigned in simple, numerically ascending order.
The amount of reduction varies, depending on configurations. For example, a more
homogeneous LU mix (such as large Pathway configurations) may experience greater
reductions than configurations that have a broad mix of LU types (such as
configurations in which secondary lines are configured as Passthrough gateway lines
and each LU contains an ASSOCIATE LU to connect terminals).
If any error is encountered when using the ADD LU command, no LUs are added, and
all LUs already added using the command are deleted.
For more information about NUMBEROFLUS, see Section 14, Attributes for SNAX/XF
and SNAX/APN.
Attribute Specifications
All ADD LU attributes and their values are described in Section 14, Attributes for
SNAX/XF and SNAX/APN.
