SNAX/XF and SNAX/APN Configuration and Management Manual—425836-006
13-132
TRACE Command
The OFF option is valid only for the LINE object type, and it has no meaning if
neither LUSELECT nor PUSELECT is specified.
PAGES pages
designates how much memory space, in units of pages (2048 bytes), is to be
allocated in the extended data segment used for tracing. This option can be
specified only when a trace is being initiated—that is, when the TO option is
specified. The value of pages must be an integer in the range 4 through 32766. If
PAGES is omitted, the extended data segment size is set to 64 pages. If zero is
specified, an error message is issued.
PUSELECT
is used to capture information about specific PU objects subordinate to the LINE
object being traced. For the types of information that can be captured (traced)
selectively, see SELECT Options on page 13-135.
Both PUSELECT and LUSELECT can be specified for the same trace. When
either PUSELECT or LUSELECT is specified or when both are specified,
information that can be selectively captured will be captured only for the specified
objects.
Any PUs or LUs selected in previous TRACE commands for that line continue to
be selected along with the new PUs and LUs, until they are deselected with the
OFF option or until the trace stops.
This option is valid only for the LINE object type, and the specified PUs must be
subordinate to that LINE object.
ALL
specifies that all PUs under the specified LINE object are to be traced.
pu-name
specifies a particular PU to be traced.
( pu-name [, pu-name]...)
specifies a list of PUs to be traced.
If you are starting a trace and do not specify PUSELECT, all PUs are traced. If you
are modifying an existing trace and do not specify PUSELECT, the list of selected
PUs does not change.
RECSIZE size
specifies the length of the data in the trace records. The length of the trace header,
which is eight bytes, is not included. The value of size must be an integer in the
range 16 through 4050 or be equal to zero. If RECSIZE is omitted or if size
equals zero, the default value of 120 bytes is used.
