CONNID - for SNAX/XF Only
CONNID - for SNAX/XF Only
CONNID specifies a connection identifier password. This attribute is valid only for PUs
that use X.25 lines.
If the CALLVALIDATE attribute for the PU specifies CONNID or BOTH, SNAX/XF
validates this password against the connection identifier, which is contained in the call
user data field of an incoming call. The password can contain from 1 through 8
alphanumeric characters. Both uppercase and lowercase characters can be entered;
SNAX/XF does not shift characters. The specified value must be surrounded by
quotation marks.
If you specify only CONNID when configuring a PU on a switched line (that is, you do
not specify the CALLADDR attribute), the following considerations apply:
The identifier password should be unique. If you are verifying only on the CONNID
value and it is not unique, you always get the first PU in the PU list.
The CALLVALIDATE attribute must also be specified with a value of CONNID.
This attribute can be removed through the ALTER PU command by specifying a null
string (" ") as the value.
CPNAME (PU Objects) - for SNAX/APN Only
When applied to a PU object, CPNAME specifies the control point name of the
adjacent node. The control point name, together with the SNA network identifier
specified in the SNANETID attribute, define the link station of the adjacent node.
This name can contain from 1 through 8 characters and must use the SNA type 1134
character set. For a description of this character set, see the IBM Systems Network
Architecture: Formats.
The NonStop node always attempts to validate an incoming Exchange Identification,
Format 3 (XID3) frame by comparing the received control point name and SNA
network identifier with the names specified in the CPNAME and SNANETID attributes
of the remote PU object. If there is a match, the connection is established. If there is
not a match, the connection is rejected.
When not explicitly defined by the user, the CPNAME attribute defaults to 8 blank
characters. When the CPNAME attribute contains all blank characters, the NonStop
node attempts Exchange Identification (XID) validation using the SNANETID attribute
Default: Null string (" ")
