INTERFACE
INTERFACE
For line type 58,5 (SDLC), INTERFACE defines the physical interface between the
controller and the modem or modem eliminator.
The following values are valid for this attribute in an ADD or ALTER command:
If a value is specified in the SCF ADD DEVICE command, that value is the default. If
no value is specified, the PSX1TS Profile default value is RS232. Use RS232 unless
V25 or X21 are employed.
For X.21, only leased line connections are supported; switched line connections are
not supported.
For X.25 and Token-Ring lines, this attribute cannot be set in the ADD or ALTER
command. However, the following values are automatically set by SNAX/XF and
appear in the detailed INFO LINE display:
IOPAGES
IOPAGES specifies the number of pages in extended memory to allocate for I/O
buffers and the poll list. Valid values are from 0 through 64 pages. The recommended
value for this attribute is 0. If 0 is specified, SNAX/XF calculates the appropriate value.
If IOPAGES is not specified using an SCF ADD or ALTER command, SNAX/XF
calculates a value. For line type 58,5 (SDLC), this value is based on the values of the
RECSIZE, WINDOW, and MAXPUS attributes.
Default: RS232
Value: RS232 | RS422 | V25 | X21| X25 (INFO only) | TR (INFO only)
Objects: LINE
RS232 specifies that the line uses the RS-232 electrical interface. This value has
no functional meaning for the SWAN concentrator.
RS422 specifies that the line uses the RS-422 electrical interface. This value has
