L2OPTION1
L2OPTION1
L2OPTION1 indicates whether the rules used for station management (polling) and
flow control (RNR) are modified. This token only applies to primary stations using line
type 58,5 (SDLC). The default is OFF.
The primary station sends queued I-frames to the secondary station as soon as its
RNR state is cleared.
L3RETRY
For PUs on primary lines, L3RETRY specifies the number of times that the level-3
procedure for the primary line-handler process retries a PU contact operation in an
attempt to get the PU into the SDLC Normal Response Mode (SDLC UA response to
an SDLC SNRM).
Except when L3RETRY is not specified or when it is assigned the value -1, a PU
contact operation is automatically retried L3RETRY times whenever level 2 signals to
Default: OFF

ON causes the following polling to occur:
Before acknowledging receipt of an I-frame from a secondary station, a
primary station polls the other secondary stations on the poll list. It continues
the poll until it returns to the secondary station that sent the I-frame. The
primary frame then sends the secondary station an RR-frame without the
polling bit set.
OFF causes the following polling to occur:
When a secondary station sends an information frame (I-frame) with the
poll/final bit set to a primary station, the primary station acknowledges receipt
by immediately returning a receiver ready frame (RR-frame) without the poll
bit set.
The primary station does not proceed to poll the other secondary stations in
the poll list until after it has sent the RR-frame to the secondary station that
had sent the I-frame.
If a primary station has multiple I-frames queued for transmission to a
secondary station, after the secondary station clears its RNR state, the
primary station polls the other secondary stations on the poll list before
sending the queued I-frames.
