POLLINT
The PASSWORD attribute has no meaning for an APPL object whose APPLTYPE
value is LUNSAPPL (5). For SNAX/APN, PASSWORD specifies a password for the
SNAX Creator-2 application process. If a password is specified for the APPL object,
any password specified in the ADD SU command in the SCF configuration for the
SNAX Creator-2 subsystem must match this APPL password. If the PASSWORD
attribute is not specified, no password is used.
The valid value for this attribute is a string of 1 through 8 characters enclosed in double
quotation marks (") or single quotation marks ('). If 8 characters are not used, the string
is blank-filled to the right to bring its length to 8 characters.
Alphabetic characters specified for this attribute are not shifted to uppercase. Thus,
users can specify passwords with any combination of lowercase and uppercase letters;
the resulting password is stored exactly as it is entered.
The PASSWORD attribute can be specified only in the ADD APPL command; it cannot
be specified in the ALTER command. To change the password, you must delete the
APPL object using the DELETE command and then add it again. The password is not
displayed by the INFO command.
POLLINT
POLLINT specifies the length of time in minutes, seconds, and hundredths of a second
that a primary line’s line handler process waits between transmissions of the poll list
when no information frames (I-frames) are ready for transmission. POLLINT does not
apply to Token-Ring lines.
When used with the Network Access Method (NAM) to connect Expand across SNA
networks, setting the POLLINT attribute to the minimum time (0.01 seconds) can
improve performance for SDLC lines.
PROGRAM
PROGRAM specifies the file name of the file containing the microcode to be
downloaded to the CLIP. The file name must identify an existing file. If no volume is
specified, $SYSTEM is assumed. The file name must be specified in external format
Note. Do not specify the null string (" " or ' ') as a password for use with SNAX Creator or
SNAX Creator-2. If you do so, you will be unable to successfully start the Creator process or to
add any Creator-2 SU objects that use that APPL object.
