PROTOCOL
and can be specified in uppercase or lowercase. SNAX/XF converts all lowercase
letters to uppercase.
The default value is $SYSTEM.CSSxx.C8448P00, where xx matches the last two
characters in the subvolume containing the system image.
PROTOCOL
PROTOCOL specifies the application interface protocol that SNAX/XF uses when
communicating with the corresponding LU. For SNAX/APN, PROTOCOL specifies the
application interface protocol that SNAX/APN uses when communicating with the
corresponding LU. When you are using the extended logon facility (XLF), this attribute
is required for the TLOGMGR LU and for acquired remote LUs. It does not apply to
remote LUs other than acquired remote LUs.
For the TLOGMGR LU, the protocol selected must be LOGON. For acquired remote
LUs, the protocol selected must be CRT, ITI, or SNALU. For local LUs used for APPC,
the protocol must be either omitted or specified as SNALUXS.
This attribute is required for the LU object type.
The different protocols that can be specified follow:
Default: None
Value: CRT | ITI | LOGON | NAM | PRT | SNALU
Objects: LU
CRT specifies that this LU uses the standard 3270 full-screen block
protocol. An application that communicates with this LU must define
and expect to receive 3270 data streams that contain screen-
formatting control characters (when the LU-LU session TYPE
attribute is set to 2), or printers using the standard 3270 full-screen
block protocol (when the LU-LU session TYPE attribute is set to 1 or
3). This protocol is also used for printers when the NonStop FASTP
or PSPOOLB print process is used (as described in the Spooler
Utilities Reference Manual). CRT corresponds to LU-LU session
type 2.
ITI specifies that the device is to converse with applications on the
NonStop system using the standard 3270 conversational (line-at-a-
time) mode. ITI corresponds to LU-LU session type 2. For
SNAX/APN, this attribute should be specified only for remote LUs
used to acquire terminals
