RECSIZE (LINE Objects)
The following values are valid for the QUEUE attribute:
RECSIZE (LINE Objects)
RECSIZE specifies the maximum number of data bytes contained in a data link control
(DLC) frame on this line. The value of RECSIZE for SDLC, X.25, and Token-Ring lines
must be at least 2 bytes greater than the largest value of RECSIZE specified for any
PU on the line; it must be 4 bytes greater for Ethernet lines.
For secondary lines attached to NCP, RECSIZE should equal the value of the
MAXDATA parameter specified in the NCP system generation plus 2 bytes. Note that
the length of the SDLC address and control bytes (2 bytes) is included in the value of
RECSIZE but not in the value of MAXDATA.
The default value is 268 bytes except for Ethernet lines that default to 1500 bytes.
When you specify RECSIZE in an ADD LINE or ALTER LINE command, you should
specify IOPAGES as 0 in the same command; an appropriate value for IOPAGES is
then automatically calculated. If you do not specify IOPAGES, the line handler retains
the value established for IOPAGES in previous ADD or ALTER commands. If you
specify IOPAGES with a value other than 0, the line handler sets IOPAGES to the
specified value. In either case, the value might not provide enough memory to
accommodate the new RECSIZE specification, causing the SCF command to be
rejected.
ON specifies that BIND requests from this LU are delayed if the intended partner
is at its session limit or is unable to comply with the PLU/SLU specification in
the BIND request.
OFF specifies that BIND requests from this LU fail if the intended session partner is
at its session limit or is unable to comply with the PLU/SLU specification in the
BIND request.
Default: 268 for SDLC, X.25, and Token-Ring lines
1500 for Ethernet lines
Value: 267 - 4096 for SDLC and X.25 lines
267 - 4468 for 4 Mb/s Token-Ring lines
267 - 16000 for 16 Mb/s Token-Ring lines
1500 for Ethernet lines
