SNANAME (Remote LU Objects) - for SNAX/APN
Only
For the TLOGMGR LU used with XLF, the SNANAME specification for SNAX/APN
must match an LU specification in the NCP line definition statement.
For a local LU used for APPC, the SNANAME specification for SNAX/APN must match
the SNANAME specification in the ADD LU command issued during the SCF
configuration for SNAX/APC. That same ADD LU command for SNAX/APC also
specifies the SNAX/APN local LU name by means of its SNAXFILE attribute.
When used with PROTOCOL NAM, the SNANAME attribute is required. The local LU
SNANAME on one system must match the remote LU SNANAME on the other system.
This feature is used to allow Expand to connect across SNA networks.
SNANAME (Remote LU Objects) - for SNAX/APN Only
SNANAME specifies the SNA name of the remote LU. The SNANAME value can
contain from 1 through 8 characters and must use the SNA 1134 character set.
For a remote LU used for APPC, the SNANAME specification must match the
SNANAME specification in the ADD PTNR-LU command issued during the SCF
configuration for SNAX/APC.
For the ILOGMGR LU, the SNANAME specification must equal an SNA name defined
in an APPL definition statement to VTAM.
For an acquired remote LU, the SNANAME specification must equal the name of a
CRT, ITI, or SNALU device as defined in an LU definition statement in the host system
generation.
PROTOCOL CRT or ITI, the SNANAME attribute is required. The SNANAME must
be unique in the network.
For PROTOCOL NAM, the SNANAME attribute is required. The local LU
SNANAME on one system must match the remote LU SNANAME on the other
system. This feature is used to allow Expand to connect across SNA networks.
For PROTOCOL SNALU, the SNANAME attribute is optional. SNANAME is the
SNA name of the SLU. The SNANAME is applicable when either the PLU or SLU
initiates a session.
If a user configures the SNANAME with the SNALU LU, the uniqueness of the
SNANAME in the network if not checked. Duplicate SNANAMEs can be entered,
which allows flexibility to support remote applications that allow multiple sessions.
Note. The TLOGMGR can create remote LU objects to represent remote devices. When you
issue an INFO LU, DETAIL command to such an LU, the resulting display will show the SNA
name of the TLOGMGR LU in a field called LocalSNAname. This is because dynamically
added device LUs assume the SNA name of the TLOGMGR LU.
Default: None
Value: String of 1 through 8 characters in the SNA type 1134 character set
Objects: LU
