STATION
STATION
STATION specifies whether the line is to act as a primary or a secondary link station.
The following values are valid for this attribute:
For X.25 (type 58,3) lines, the only valid values of the STATION attribute are PRIMARY
and SECONDARY; link station negotiation is not permitted.
The STATION attribute cannot be altered; an SCF ALTER LINE, STATION command
will be rejected with SCF error message E00125.
SUPFCSERRMSG
SUPFCSERRMSG specifies whether or not Frame Check Sequence (FCS) errors are
to be reported to the Event Management Service (EMS) log. This attribute applies only
to lines with bit-synchronous controllers.
ON indicates that, if an FCS error occurs, reporting of the error is suppressed; that is,
the error is not reported to the EMS log. If the attribute SUPFCSERRMSG is ON, the
value of the attribute FCSERRREPORTFREQ is ignored.
OFF indicates that, if an FCS error occurs, the error is reported to the EMS log. If the
attribute SUPFCSERRMSG is OFF, the value of FCSERRREPORTFREQ is set to the
value specified by the user. FCSERRREPORTFREQ provides an option for the SNAX
line handler to generate an EMS message for every nth occurrence of a Frame Check
Sequence (FCS) error if the attribute SUPFCSERRMSG is OFF.
Default: PRIMARY
Value: PRIMARY | SECONDARY | NEGOTIABLE
Objects: LINE
PRIMARY specifies that the line is to act as a primary station.
SECONDARY specifies that the line is to act as a secondary station.
NEGOTIABLE specifies that the link station on the NonStop system is able to
negotiate its role with the adjacent link station. As a result of
negotiation, one of the link stations becomes primary and the other
secondary.
Default: OFF
Value: ON | OFF
Objects: LINE
Note. If ON is specified for this attribute, no FCS errors are reported. Therefore, it is strongly
recommended that the cause of any FCS errors be found and corrected before this line
attribute is set to ON.
