TG n - for SNAX/APN Only
If the timer expires before a session begins, an EMS event message is displayed after
the interval specified using SWSESSTIMEOUT. If no session begins and the
connection remains active, the time-out event is repeated at ten-minute intervals.
TG n - for SNAX/APN Only
Transmission groups are used in APPN to enable multiple, parallel connections
between nodes. (Multiple means links to more than one other node, parallel means
more than one link to the same node.)
TG configures the transmission group number. You will select a number from a series
of ranges, shown below, that determine some characteristics of that TG.
You may use the other TG attributes, such as TGBYTECOST to determine further
characteristics — these are known as class of service (COS) attributes. The numerical
values and words are standards used in all IBM-compliant APPN networks.
TGBYTECOST - for SNAX/APN Only
This represents the cost per byte, the relative cost of transmitting a byte over this TG.
Default: For end node the default is 256, for LEN it is 0
Range: 0 - 256

0 Parallel TG is not supported between nodes. The LEN node default.
1 - 20: For TGs that are pre-defined between nodes.
21 - 239: TG characteristics will be negotiated between nodes.
240 -
255:
Normally reserved numbers — implementation-specific
256: Any TG number, the default for end node.
