SNAX/XF and SNAX/APN Configuration and Management Manual—425836-006
14-74
TYPE (Remote LU Objects) - for SNAX/APN
TYPE (Remote LU Objects) - for SNAX/APN
When applied to remote LU objects, TYPE specifies the device type (always 14) and
subtype for a remote LU. For SNAX/APN, the subtype values include:
All of these integer values are specified following the number 14 and a command,
surrounded by parentheses, such as in the value specified TYPE (14,0). The number
14 indicates the device type for an LU. This attribute is required; there is no default.
The subtype is also required.
TYPE (PU Objects)
When applied to a PU, TYPE specifies the device type (always 13) and subtype for the
PU. For SNAX/APN, the subtype must always be specified as 21. This attribute must
be specified. The following values indicate the particular subtypes:
Default: None
Value: ( 14, { 0 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 21 } )
Objects: LU
0 provides a generalized, user-definable process-to-process communications
capability for applications.
1 defines the formats and protocols for SNA support of a Remote Job Entry (RJE)
workstation operating in a batch environment.
2 defines the session rules for communicating in an interactive display
environment with devices attached to a 3270 cluster controller or a T6600
controller.
3 defines the session rules for communicating with printer devices attached to a
3270 cluster controller.
4 defines the session rules for communicating with data-processing and word-
processing media support devices attached to a cluster controller.
21 is an internal HP value that applies only when the PROTOCOL attribute is
LOGON or SNALUXS.
Default: None
Value: (13, integer), where integer is { 1 | 2 | 21 }
Objects: PU
1 specifies that the device subtype corresponds to an IBM PU type 1.
2 specifies that the device subtype corresponds to an IBM PU type 2.
21 specifies that the device subtype corresponds to an IBM PU type 2.1.
