PTrace Commands
PTrace Commands
The following PTrace commands are supported for SNAX traces:
The DETAIL command applies only to line traces, not to service-manager traces, and
is generally useful only to HP personnel. DETAIL ON enables the display of internal
MSGCB information in trace records. The FILTER command applies only to service-
manager traces. All other listed commands apply to all SNAX device types and
subtypes.
There are no unsupported PTrace commands for SNAX. However, the EBCDIC,
SETTRANSLATE, TEXT, TIMESTAMP, and TRANSLATE commands have no effect.
In SNAX trace records, data is always displayed in hexadecimal, ASCII, and EBCDIC
formats, regardless of the setting of these commands. The timestamps always reflect
the original time of the system where the trace was taken.
The following pages provide SNAX subsystem-specific information about the FILTER,
SELECT, SELMASK, and STATETABLES commands.
FILTER Command
The FILTER command sets filtering criteria for displaying trace records. It is applicable
only to service manager traces.
The FILTER command allows you to enable or disable several option flags. These
flags let you control display of certain data in the trace records, display the current
settings of the flags, and get help information about the options.
The FILTER command for a service manager trace has no effect on which trace
records are displayed. It governs only whether certain information is displayed within
those records that are selected for display. To select particular kinds of service
manager trace records for display, use the SELECT or the SELMASK command.
