SNAX
SNAX. A trademark pertaining to a family of NonStop products. In this manual, it is used to
refer to SNAX/XF and SNAX/APN together.
SNAX Advanced Peer Networking (SNAX/APN). A NonStop software product that
enables a NonStop system to function as a type 2.1 LEN node.
SNAX Advanced Program Communication (SNAX/APC). A NonStop API product that
handles SNA flows for LU 6.2 communication (APPC) with other programs.
SNAX/APC. See SNAX Advanced Program Communication (SNAX/APC).
SNAX/APN. See SNAX Advanced Peer Networking (SNAX/APN).
SNAX/APN Logon Manager (TLOGMGR). The module within SNAX/APN that handles
logon from a remote 3270 device. Works in cooperation with the Logon Manager for
IBM Systems (ILOGMGR).
SNAX/CM. See SNAX Connection Manager (SNAX/CM).
SNAX Connection Manager (SNAX/CM). A program that provides interactive and
programmatic management of SNAX switched lines. Users can issue SNAX/CM
commands either from a terminal or from an application to connect calls, allow
incoming calls, monitor calls, and disconnect calls.
SNAX Creator. A NonStop software that launches new application processes.
SNAX Creator-2. NonStop software that launches new application processes.
SNAX Extended Facility (SNAX/XF). A NonStop software product that provides a gateway
between NonStop systems and SNA systems and devices. SNAX/XF uses subarea
networking to communicate with attached SNA devices and SNA hosts. The NonStop
system functions either as a type 5.0 node (without cross-domain functions) or as a
type 2.0 node. These functions can be combined to allow transparent pass through of
data flows between SNA devices in a NonStop network and SNA hosts.
SNAX High Level Support (SNAX/HLS). A high-level interface that allows applications
executing in a NonStop system to communicate with non-3270 intelligent SNA devices
and IBM host-resident software products. SNAX/HLS enables NonStop programmers
who are not familiar with IBM SNA to develop applications for the SNA environment.
SNAX/HLS. See SNAX High Level Support (SNAX/HLS)
.
SNAX/XF. A NonStop access method that implements SNA subarea networking connectivity
with SNA systems and devices. SNAX/XF communicates with directly attached SNA
devices and directly attached SNA hosts, and to function as fully integrated
components of an hierarchical SNA network. The NonStop system functions either as a
type 5.0 node (without cross-domain functions) or as a type 2.0 node. These functions
can be combined to allow transparent pass-through of data flows between SNA
